FAQ

How do I contact Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues or get more information

If you would like to contact us or would like more information about Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues, you can call us (484) 891-0762, or email us at info@lehighvalleyleagues.com.

Who can play

Everyone 18 and older can play at Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues. There is a wide range of ages and abilities. We've seen participation from ages 18-55.   There are a couple leagues that require participants to be 21 and older.

Do I need to have a team to sign up

No, individuals can sign up as a "Free Agent", and we will attempt to get them onto a team that is registered. If a group of people sign up together but cannot form a full team, there will be a place in the registration to include the names of those you want to stay on a team together.   If we get enough free agents registered in a league, we will create a team out of them.  Teams in the league are not forced to take on free agents, but we see great success with being able to create teams and to get free agents onto teams.

How do I register

You may register online by clicking on the Register Now button under the Join A League tab at the top of the website.  You can also click on the sport on the drop down menu and register directly on that sport page.   You will be directed to create a League Apps account if you are a new user, or to sign in if you have played before. Just follow the registration process and you will be prompted to pay at the end.

What is the cost

The cost varies per sport.  Unless otherwise stated, the cost for each sport is a team fee.  Captains will be prompted to pay at the end when registering their team.   Anyone registering as a free agent will have an individual cost.   The cost for free agents will vary depending on the league.

What is the difference between Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced

Novice leagues are for people who may not have the best athletic ability but are interested in getting out, having some fun, and meeting new people. It is a great way for people new to the area to meet some new friends!   The intermediate league is designed for more athletic competition. The advanced league is for people that have a higher skill level for that sport, but still looking to have fun and meet new people. In all leagues, good sportsmanship is expected.

How does the scheduling work

When a league begins, we will create a schedule for the first week or two weeks. A complete regular season schedule will be made after the first week of the season.  Any team that is not paid in full after that week will be removed from the schedule until they are fully paid. Schedule requests for certain times can be made before the full season schedule is made (first come, first serve basis).

Can we make schedule change requests

Teams may ask for a certain time slot to be able to play in for the regular season before the schedule is made. Once the schedule has been made, there is no changes made, unless in the event of game cancellations that require rescheduling. Leagues that play in multiple locations or on multiple days will be randomly assigned their games when the schedule is released. We will try to spread the games out over both locations/days so teams have an opportunity to play everywhere.

Are we able to have substitute players in a week

If a team is short players any given week, they may have substitute players come and play. Fees for substitute are now included in the team fees. All substitute players must play at least 1 week during the regular season to be eligible to play in the playoffs. Subs must sign the team's waiver sheet before playing. Substitute players may not outnumber regular players in a playoff game. Substitute players may not play for multiple teams in a given season.

Where are games played

Games are played throughout the Lehigh Valley. Locations will change based on season and field/court availability.

Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues will make every attempt to maintain dates, times, and locations of all games in a given league. There may be events outside of Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues control that will affect the league scheduling and result in a change in date, time, location, and number of games played in a given week.

Can I register after the deadline

Please contact Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues for late registration. This will be considered on a case by case basis.

What happens in the event of bad weather

We make every attempt each week to be able to play our league games. In the event of a postponement/cancellation, we post to our Facebook and Twitter pages, and email sent out to the league.   We will make a play/no play call by 5pm on the day of the games.   Any cancellations after the 5pm deadline or within 1 hour of scheduled game time, and we will call the team captains to let them inform their team.

What is the Bar Tab Contest

During most leagues, Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues will hold a bar tab contest. Each week after the games have ended, we encourage you to go out and support our sponsor bar for the league and hangout and meet other teams and their players. The team in the league that has the most money spent at the sponsor bar on league nights at the end of the season will win a gift card back to the sponsor bar in the amount of 15% of their total spent to the nearest $5. Receipts must be turned in each week to the league representative or referee with the team's name on them.  All conditions are subject to the sponsor bar's participation.  Percentage amounts may vary depending on sponsor.

What is the Ambassador Program

Each year, we will have a few volunteers that will be our ambassadors for the year.   They will help us in getting more teams for the leagues, helping to find people to fill out teams that need people, and be out at certain events to help promote Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues.   They will also help us in running some weekend tournaments.  In exchange for helping us in these areas, the ambassadors will play for free throughout that calendar year.   If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, please contact us.

What if I would like to be a Referee

We are always looking for more referees.  Contact us with your background info and what leagues you would be interested in reffing.   One of our only restrictions for referees is that you are not allowed to be playing in any league that you are also a referee.   Our referees are paid on a per game basis.

What are the referee fees

The referee fees are the dues (cash) paid to the referee by each team before their game.   Referees are encouraged to use Venmo for payment, but are not required.  Referee fees will vary by sport.   Teams are required to have their referee fees before each game.   It will be at the referee's discretion as to whether a team is allowed to play without paying the ref fees before their game.  Please see our Referee Fees Policy page for complete details.

What if our team would not be able to play (Forfeits)

Please see our Forfeit policy page for complete details.

Are family and friends allowed to come to the games?
Yes, family and friends are welcome to come and watch the games.   Anyone in attendance does so at their own free will, and will not hold Lehigh Valley Sports Leagues liable for anything that occurs during their attendance.   Any minors in attendance must have adult supervision at all times.   In the event there is no one to watch the child, the parent playing in the league will have to sit out to be able to watch the child.
